Quickie

1) If you didn't go outside yesterday, shame on you. It was absolutely delightful. Even in my heinously uncomfortable work shoes, I couldn't have been happier on my walk from Foggy Bottom to Dupont.

2) Amazing Race Sseason premier last night, and I am STOKED!!! If you don't watch this show, please tune in. They're trying "family edition" this season, so I can't vouch for how it will turn out, but it is definitely the best reality television show. EVER.

3) Normally I hate my job, and I bitch about it a lot, but today it has been wonderful. Gotta share the bad AND the good...

4) As much as Best Buy is dragging their feet with regards to my digital camera, I found out that I'm getting a new one for free! This is nothing short of incredible. Stay tuned as to how long it takes me to break this one.

5)
I love rediscovering random things. Last night, the various radio stations on iTunes. I relaxed to one of the stations under the Ambient category. So much good music, so easily accessible! I especially love this iTunes feature, because I really have few other outlets for good electronic music (and I'm not talking about the lateste Janet megamix). In the words of Erik Sermon, "I wish music could adopt me."

6) Gayest moment of my day on Tuesday: talking about eye brow maintenance with my two female co-workers... What is this, Blow Out?

I also believe that eyebrow maintenance is very important. Plucking is better on the skin than waxing since the skin is the thinnest and most sensitive in that area of the body and waxing can causing burns and bruises.

I also use iTunes extensively. Unfortunately I don't have money for XM... :(

Was Amazing Race good? I love that show, but I have not been stoked for the family edition--looks boring, so we didn't watch. Seriously, it is the best reality show EVER and I would kill to be on it... Can you beleive it almost didn't come back after the first season? The only other reality show I woulda liked to have been on was The Mole, and not just b/c Anderson Cooper is so fucking hot, but because it is the one show where you actually self-eliminate, so it ain't no popularity contest.

Dale...how can you not know about XM? That is where I work!
Here you can try it for free for 3 days: http://xmro.xmradio.com/xstream/registration/registration.jsp?userForward=default

(Sorry I don't know how to write in code order to make a spiffy link for ya so you are going to have to cut and paste!)

If you're gonna spend $$ I'd go with Rhapsody. In addition to their radio stations, you can stream any CD in their catalog for $9.99 a month, and they have quite a large catalog. I LOVE it. If you don't want to spend any $$ you can still sign up for an account and get 25 free streaming songs per month.

Free two week trial for full access...Again, I highly recommend it.

Rhapsody? You jest!
For some reason I am not liking Mr. Bartender.

Like me or not, I stand by my Rhapsody recommendation! :) How many times have you bought a CD to find the radio single is the only good song on it. With Rhapsody can you listen to the entire album without wasting your money. And while XM has good stations, I love the option of being able to listen to what song you want, when you want. Give it a chance, you'll love it!!

*sigh* I only wish straight guys would get eyebrow maintenance. No matter how hard I try, I'm afraid my husband is going to end up like one of those old guys with the really really long eyebrow hairs...oh, ew...

Speaking of eyebrow maintenance - any of you tried threading? It's amazing!

Chase: Yeah I'm technologically deficient, unfortunately most of my appliances end up in the washer...just ask chip, so I stay toward the more basic entertainment media (I just got an ipod a couple months ago)

AM: threading is the POO!! I grew up with all my friends being persian, so along with knowing how to talk trash in farsi I learned the joys of threading!!

What is threading? I've heard of it..but I don't know how it works exactly. Share the knowledge!

Chase: it's when a persian woman takes a couple of linen or cotton threads and twists them together and runs them over your skin and catches the hairs in between and pulls them out.... hurts like bejesus but works REALLY well... and the persians know as they aren't the most hairless people on the planet.

Although, I hate pain...I will have to try it. Thanks, Dale.
